The little smartypants doesn’t quite understand the use of the dial phone. With the old Brumberg phones, you had to put your finger at the number position and drag the wheel counterclockwise around till your finger was stopped by the dam. Then you’d release the dial and it would rotate clockwise back to the starting position, thus sending the pulse to select that number. There are some new versions of the dial phone for those that hanker for the retro look that have buttons at the number positions. With these, one can follow little miss smartypants directions and make the phone work.
