Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for November 15, 1987
Transcript:
Hobbes: Go way back. I'm really gonna belt this. Keep going, keep going. I said way back! Keep going! Calvin: That dummy, he can't kick it this far. Boot! Whump! What're ya doin? I'm ten yards from the goal line! Aren't you gonna try to catch me?!? I could crawl on my hands and knees to make a touchdown before you'd ever get me from back there! What's the matter with you??? Ooops. Hobbes: Do you want to keep trying for the last two yards, or just give me the ball, now? Calvin: I call a ten year time out to grow some more.
The real question is: If Calvin hadn’t stopped to heckle Hobbes, would he have been able to reach the end zone?
.
If he were lucky, he’d have been close enough that Hobbes’ collision would have pushed him over the line.

For those who doubt Hobbes’ life—what do they make of this episode? Calvin is tripping over his own feet? He is tackling himself?
