Cathy: I've worn nothing but muted beige tones for two years.. I can't wear a bright red dress. Saleswoman: Of course you can! This season is all about color! Electric Red! Screaming tangerine! Retina searing fuchia! Bold, aggressive, 'isn't is a blast to be a woman' color!!! Cathy: Thank you. Now I'm going to drive my tan car to my off white home, put on my eggshell bathrobe, curl up on my ecru furniture, each a bunch of oatmeal cookies, and pretend we never had this conversation. Saleswoman: Another customer locked in her ivory tower. Black is out unless it's shiny and vinal!!
