Cathy: Do you remember to change your clocks? Yes, Mom. Did you remember to change your watch? Yes, Mom. Mom: Digital time is now banned from this household!! Cathy: Hi, Mom. Mom: It took your Father five hours and 19 instruction books to change the clocks on all the gizmos in this house, and I am never witnessing that spectable again! My "muli-function coffee filtration system" already makes me feel like an idiot..must it also have a clock no one can figure out how to set?? Everywhere we turn, another modern contraption with 100 features we don't know how to use is sneering at us with big digital numbers! And not even the same sneering numbers! We never quite got it right last fall, so every precise digital clock says something completely different! From now on, I want a coffee pot that only makes coffee..A phone that only dials and hangs up...a toaster that only makes toast..a typewriter that only types..and one nice, normal time-piece that gives us the general idea that it's somewhere around half-past the hour!! Cathy: While the country springs an hour ahead, Mother sets the clock back to 1955.
