I used to work with a fellow whose family had a huge boxer that would get very anxious if left home alone for too long. The family all went to a wedding one day and were gone later than expected, and when they arrived home and tried to get in the front door, they found it was blocked by a mattress from a third-floor guest bedroom that the dog, in its separation anxiety, had dragged down two flights of stairs (knocking over everything in the way) and stacked against the inside of the door. It didn’t help that they were also pushing the door in against the weight of the dog who was also lying on the mattress.
