Stupid person, house sitting, left pot of grease on stove to melt and pour down drain (lazy) Went to bar next door. The grease ignited, set fire to cupboard above stove, where bag of flour dropped into pot, spreading fire around kitchen. No smoke detector in apartment, so alarm was delayed. I was downstairs with Chief’s car, so grabbed air pack and fire hose off wall and got it out before it really spread. Paint was bubbling off door, it was hot in there. Be careful folks, have a working smoke detector and a good fire extinguisher, and learn how to use it properly. Your local CERT team will help you with that.
