Zipper; You didn't picket? Zonker: Never got the chance. I was handed this as soon as I arrived! Zipper: "You have been terminated for absenteeism, chronic lateness, indifferent service, drug use and poor grooming." Whoa... harsh... but sort of a clean bust, no? Zonker: Yeah, but he was so smug about it!
It’s my understanding Zipper is Zonker’s nephew, right? That suggests that Zonker has another sibling somewhere in the Doonesbury universe. So, just where is he or her? Ought to be a good story in itself.
Funny how “nephews” turn up in comics (Popeye’s five nephews, Donald Duck’s three nephews, etc.) when the implied circumstances could be less than funny.
