A good sense of humor cures none of the world’s ills, but it does make them easier to bear.
I often do a “thought experiment.” I am a boy/girl/whatever scout from the planet Zarg working on my merit badge in primitive cultures. So my Scoutzarg takes my troop to Earth.
When you look at our culture from the outside, it is both tragic and humorous. Much of what we accept as “normal” is arbitrary.
When I look at myself from the outside, I also find that a lot of things I do don’t necessarily make sense either. It gives me the ability to laugh at myself, and that may be one of the greatest gifts of all.
Humor is a gift.
