Frank and Ernest by Thaves for October 10, 2010
Transcript:
Ernest says, "Here comes my friend Frank, the movie star! He's going to see it's a lot like Hollywood up here!" Ernest says, "In Hollywood everybody gets plastic surgery and up here we all have eternal youth!" Ernest says, "We don't have celebrity parties, but we are surrounded by stars!" Ernest says, "And celebrities fly on private jets while up here we all have our own wings!" Frank says, "That's great! The best part is no more auditions!" Ernest says, "Oh, sorry--- we have something like that up here, too."
@freeholder, why blame the Catholics? Most of your points I’d agree with–except the wings, halos, St. Peter, are intended as metaphors: wings=speed, halo=in the divine light. And the New Testament itself speaks of the Judgment, in Matthew 25:31-46. But you are right in that it’s not a real audition–only a reckoning for what has gone before, how well we used what God gave us in the spirit in which these gifts were given.
