In Vermont a woman went into the woods behind her house (on property she owned) to find whoever was shooting there. The hunter saw the white flash of her gloves and shot, thinking he was seeing the white flash of a deer’s tail. He killed her but got off because it was an accident and a reasonable assumption on his part. Two things bug me about this. First, he didn’t ask permission before hunting on her property. I hear that’s legal in Vermont but against what I was taught. Second, he didn’t have a clear view of what he was shooting. Again, against what I was taught and downright stupid.
