There is an idea out there that… people do things differently.
Example: Christmas Eve… the kids are finally tucked into bed. Now you can bring out the gifts and wrap them up. But alas… the bicycle is not assembled! Some would read the instructions and then assemble. Some would read the instructions while they assemble. Others would get someone to read the instructions to them while they do all the work.
I have bounced this idea off people in the past. One lady immediately screamed that she would drag the box back to the store and Demand someone put the bike together. My response to her was – the store is closed. Still screaming she said it didn’t matter… she would sit there until someone took care of the problem. Then! She would insist on compensation for Christmas being ruined!
But… many people I have talked with have suggested to just leave the bike as is. Let Jr. put it together. It will either teach him/her the joys of accomplishing something on their own (maybe a little help for morale)… or they will put it together faster than anyone!
Maybe this is what Papa Meggs should do – leave it for Ginger and friends to put it together! They might improve it! :)
