Heart: Paper! Glue! Scissors! Tape! I watched my Mother's gift take shape.. A jelly jar for the head, two pennies for the eyes, a coffee can formed her gut...this bird that never flies. For two straight weeks, plus two days too, we stapled, cut and pasted..(when you make a thing for Mom, it's never time that's wasted!) I am partial, I must confess, but of the class, mine came out best! But like all good things, this one ends and when I left the room, I tripped and how that bird did fly, like some old witch's broom! It smashed and broke right outside our home, and so instead of my georgeous bird...you get this stupid poem. Happy Mother's Day!
That’s probably for the best.
