It always amazes me when I find the bits of my childhood lore, rhyme, and culture have their antecedents in adult fun made G-rated. I can’t hear or read the “Miss Susie had a steamboat” or “Miss Mary Mack Mack Mack” rhymes without hearing the R-rated versions in my head either.
