The tree guy let us have it for 75 cents because it was half-dead" Dad: "On the way home, we bought a string of lights and a few ornaments at a thrift store" Dad: "The whole thing cost us about a buck- fifty, but we loved that little tree..." Mom: "Honey, if you're upset that I spent $37 on this ornament, just say so"
My family has one of those trees where, other than the lights, nothing matches…. it’s a brouhaha of random ornaments we (and by that, I mean my mom) have bought over the years, usually from souvenir places. Nothing matches at all. My parents insist it gives the tree character, but we all know what that means…
