I haven’t seen “Stuart Saves His Family”, but I ought to NetFlix it. It wasn’t a hit, but I’ve heard it has some real depth and heart to it. It wasn’t simply stretching the SNL sketches to feature length, Franken took the character seriously and made him something other than just a goofball. In showing Stuart’s family, Franken showed why he had gotten messed-up in the first place and how his touchy-feely, support-group mentality really DOES help him. That’s not really what your average movie-goer wants, though…
