Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis for June 08, 2015
Transcript:
Rat: The biggest city in Nigeria is trying to improve their economy by producing frozen waffles. Their logo is just the city's name. And to promote them, they're putting children's building blocks in each. Goat: Let's go. Rat: Let's go what? Goat: Let's go get Lagos logo eggo legos. Rat: Let's not.
I often wonder how much time Pastis devotes to coming up with these. Are they a flash of inspiration? Does he have a process for producing them? Does he work backwards, i.e. create the pun or alliteration first, then come up with its derivation? Enfeebled minds want to know.
