Our cat has now discovered the joy of a scratching pad made from gluing 1.5 inch strips of corrugated cardboard together so that the open “tunnel” ends are up. We got one at Chewy.com . It has lasted a LOT longer than I thought when I saw it, and she finds it very satisfying. To the point where she uses the litter box then runs into the other room to get a more satisfying scratch. Also to the point that she no longer scratches the sofa, the rug, the bathmat… much.
It does make an entrancing crinkly sound.
