I went to my bank one afternoon to use the ATM. I was about to insert my card when I discovered $200.00 protruding from the slot along with the receipt. I immediately went inside the bank and handed them to a teller. Later that day the customer who had left the money in the machine returned and he got it back. It seems that he had been texting his sister on his phone and forgot to take his cash. I did not want a reward but he insisted on giving me $30.00 for being honest. The thing that resonated within me is how pitiful it is that people think others should be rewarded for doing an honorable thing. It doesn’t say much for human nature, does it?
