Rude way to treat one of the classic comics of all time. Of course, that’s the PBS way.

You would think we were surrounded by huge armies ravening for American blood with comments like we see in this strip. When was the last time Switzerland was in a war? Yet, they still have holidays.

Repeats aren’t the issue, rather why can’t gocomics line them up sequentially? I mean, come on, we seem to have about 20 of them running in a loop. Let’s get them ALL back into play.

Interesting. SO BOTH men could claim “Stand Your Ground”? In that case, this law brings back the Western movie tradition of two men in the street, having a drawdown. Both men are standing their ground, after all, so nobody can be found guilty of a crime, no matter who gets shot.

The didn’t have enough evidence to get past the parameters of Stand Your Ground. They had plenty of evidence that George was the aggressor in the situation. Without Stand your ground, he gets manslaughter. In fact, he pleads guilty, because he has no shot at acquittal. The law needs to be eliminated.

The reality is, with the law as written, this was the only possible outcome. There was no way they could get beyond a reasonable doubt against the parameters of “Stand Your Ground”. If the jury had come back guilty, the judge would have set aside the verdict.

The problem isn’t the verdict, it’s the law itself. There is no logical reason someone who stalked and attacked another person should be able to claim self defense, but the law allows it. The law needs to be struck down, plain and simple.

Oh, yes. Some things never change. Today, that caller would try to bully Jeff into paying the debt, even though he has no liability.

Anne Rice was the beginning of the end. You want Vampires, read Salem’s Lot.
