In 1999, in Cape Girardeau MO., There was such a serious shortage of pennies that local banks were paying a 10% premium to customers who brought them in! Artist Les Levine of Windsor, Ont., Canada, spread 250 boxes of cornflakes in a park to create a work of art that symbolized the harvest! The hagfish, a boneless, jawless fish with no visible eyes, has remained unchanged for 300 million years!
10% premium? Bringing in 100 pennies, would that be 10 pennies back in change?
