I reread the Odyssey a few years ago. My favorite part was when Odysseus, having wiped out the invasive suitors, orders his son Telemachus to kill the eight or so serving maids who consorted with the suitors. Telemachus decides death by sword is too good for them, so he hangs them. “Their feet twitched a little. But not for long.”
