When we moved here to SW Florida 10 years ago, it was a paradise. (So different from East coast Florida). There were SO many acres of native trees and palms. It was not overbuilt. Airport here is small. Fell in love from the minute we stepped into that Fort Myers Airport. Fast Forward to today – almost every beautiful acre has been destroyed for not just single-family housing, but acres and acres of condos (some way over a million dollars). Infrastructure cannot handle the traffic; in “season”, it’s worse. Every couple of miles is a storage unit. This place has now turned into Miami West. (ok, not quite, but it’s getting there) --we are now looking to get out, if we can only figure out where to go.
