Charlie555’s post bugs me on several points. He assumes Pakistanis don’t know what terrorism is
He seems to think Pakistanis are unaware of what happened on Sept the 11th. Trust me Charlie; we have all seen the clips and images of the attacks on that day.
But I ask you: Do you know how many terrorist attacks the Pakistanis have suffered? Do you know how many deaths amongst the Pakistani civilians and military from terrorism?
Let me help answer that question for you, I know you’re just dying to know:
4,832 incidents found Dating from 01/05/2004 till 06/30/2009
Dead 5824
Wounded 12260
Hostages 4727
Total Victims 22811
Taken from the National Counterterrorism Center
You may then correctly claim the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) supported the Taliban in the past and some even continue to do so today; what goes round comes round. But then the CIA helped arm, train and supported Osama Bin Laden, too.
The civilians obviously have a hand in all of this, don’t they?
The victims of the Sept 11th attacks were innocent but why aren’t the civilian casualties in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq equally innocent?
Yes, I think Pakistanis can quite rightly protest unmanned drones attacking within their borders. Those attacks have not been without innocent lives lost. Again that dehumanised “collateral damage” we all hear about. But that’s ok; it is to protect American lives.
You took the fight “over there” so as to not suffer domestic attacks, but while “over there”, your military is causing civilian casualties. But that’s ok; an American life is worth so much more.
I’m astonished by the hypocrisy shown by Americans who support their 2nd Amendment rights by claiming it is to be able to form local militia to defend their national territory should any attack arise, yet complain when other nationals in their countries protest when another country attacks within its sovereign territory.
I wish you’d watch a video or two about Pakistan.
You can only think of and see within your borders, nothing beyond it is worth anything. In another cartoon’s thread you stated the reason why we are attacked is because ”they just hate us”.
Try changing your attitude.
