The trouble I have with this ‘toon is technical. I’m a fan of the Austrian, Oliver, but I think he should be aware vultures are carrion birds. They scavenge and rarely hunt, and only if the prey is already very weak or dying. So why has he used a vulture (always shown circling above the dying) as his symbol…? Right…Germany & France are weak. :-| Nah, too contrived.I asked my wife if she could read anything “Germanic” in the cartoon but she seemed as mystified if there was any other deeper symbolism.She suggested Kafka’s “Der Geier”meh. I’m trying too hard, I just don’t quite get his ’toon this time.
