Ellen: *spotlight* La Ta teetum *Boooooo! Booooo!* Nate will you help me learn my lines for the school play? Nate: *Groan* Ellen: I'll play the part of Mary, and you play the part of Phil! Mary: "Phil? is that you?" Phil: (enters from left): "it's me. I was at your sister's." Mary: "you were? Did.... she..... tell you?" Phil: (after a pause) yeah. she told me." Mary: (beginning to cry): "Oh Phil... I wish I'd been able to tell you myself, but i just didn't know how." Phil: (Moving toward Mary): "Well, it's water under the bridge. I'm just glad everything's out in the open." Mary: (Wiping away tears): "you mean you don't hate me?" Phil: How could i ever hate you?" *They kiss passionately* Nate: Rehearsal over. Ellen: Oh, yuck!
