Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for January 14, 1995
Transcript:
Nate: Do you think someday I might get a scholarship to art school, Mr. Rosa? Mr. Rosa: Perhaps. Mr. Rosa: ... But getting a scholarship is no guarantee of success! Art is a demanding career! Making it as an artist is a neverending struggle, a war of attrition! Mrs. Rosa: There will be people who oppose you, galleries that shun you, critics who attack you! You'll be up against the art establishment, an they'll chew you up and spit you out like a piece of meat! Nate: forget I asked. Mr. Rosa: You might even have to settle for some TEACHING job.
It’s weird how everybody’s favorite teacher is depressed.
