Mom: To make sure we make the 5:00pm cruise, your father booked us on a 9:00am flight that will get us to the boat by noon. To make the 9:00 flight, he wants to leave for the airport by 6:00am...To make sure we leave by 6:00, he wants you at our house by 4:00am...to make sure you're here at 3:00, he'll give you a wake-up call at 2:00am. To make sure he's up to give you the wake-up call, I'm going to make a big pot of coffee at midnight, and your father will sit in a chair, staring bug-eyed at the clock for two hours.
