Reminds me of an episode of LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, where the Beav, goaded by Gilbert. made a goofy face for the class photo—which was then printed in the yearbook!
Calvin also does the same thing when Dad tries to take his picture!
How about those ridiculous flash cubes. Talk about a rip off! We got in trouble on summer night just running around the back yard blasting off all flash cubes the folks had. Lighting Bugs had competition that night!
I remember when my dad really got into photography. The kitchen was turned into a darkroom and film was processed by the sink with an enlarger on the countertop. I stll have the pictures he developed, including the one of him in his “darkroom” with dirty dishes in the background that couldn’t be washed until he finished his developing.
I caught a picture of my dad sitting in his chair attempting to take apart a Brownie camera that he got mad at! I had never seen his face like that before OR after! Priceless!
Looking at the first panel, I’m thinking that Red’s using a classic Kodak Instamatic. Maybe even a 104, which was either my first or second camera and if fresh 126 film was available I’d still use it from time to time. Film rules!

Remember going to the drive-thru photo hut or dropping the film at the pharmacy photo desk? Even better yet, Polaroid instamatics.

I remember getting film developed! At least, with the new technology, you can delete bad photos so as not to embarrass yourself or somebody else.

I count 5 snaps, so Red had to switch to a new flash cube at some point.

OK Red, ’fess up. You do the same thing when dad tries to take your picture.
