The songbird might really appreciate a small remodeling job: removing the perch entirely. He doesn’t need it at all, and it’s disturbingly handy for predators and other unwelcome interlopers.

The little birdies will do well to get a freshly painted house to party in. Go ahead Poll for rescheduling fellas!

I wonder if the birds could read the tiny Wet Paint sign that Jimbo will put up?

In the early 2000’s my Dad and I used to design and build/paint our own unique bird houses. We’d hang them out on long low hanging branches in a row to dry and hopefully lure in some buyers. One year we found a lot of long twigs sticking out of the holes filling up in all 10 of them in a row on two of the over sized branches. Dad would periodicity walk over and pull the twigs out. Well the tiny single avian culprit decided to fly down on one of the houses and tweeted his angry opinion directly up at my Dad who was standing only about inches away. Dad looked down at the tiny male wren and said, "Aaaaahh shaddap! Saw it happen myself, it was pretty funny.

Don’t cancel the party. The house will be back as soon as it’s dry!

My husband took down several bluebird houses to paint them about a month ago. Had them back up in about 3 days but haven’t seen the bluebirds since. It’s disturbing. We’d finally attracted many of them to the yard.

The birds here are already checking out potential nesting sites. The dirty bird robin is back sitting on my car and leaving lots of guano on it. The resident Peregrine Falcon pair in our area never left town and have been jealously guarding their nest box on one of the downtown buildings.
