An ambitious girl, that Ruby.

A PhD in aerodynamics would be a great achievement for a female in the 1960’s. I hope Ruby will be brave enough to withstand the criticism she’d receive for not succumbing to the “dishes and diapers” rut in the “gilded ghetto”!

I think Red is already in orbit over Ruby!

I see an avid future for all three of them!

When I won my caption contest, I told creator Brian Basset that I hoped Ruby would join Red on a space mission. I may get my wish.

Looks like he’s a liberated boy to go for such a girl.

Doctoring her resume.

This reminds me of when NASA decided that not all astronauts had to be test pilots. I easily met the stated “mission specialist” requirements, so I applied. The winners were way overqualified by that standard. Doctorates, NASA internships, and all that.
