    You might be surprised, but in the 1800’s a LOT of Irish people emigrated to Mexico as well as to the U.S. When I was studying Spanish in grade school, our text book was written by a guy named O’Connor — which we were told to pronounce as “oh cone OR.”

    They should have gone to an English restaurant. Saint Patrick was British, born in Birdoswald in what is now Cumbria, England. He was captured by Irish pirates, enslaved, escaped and went back to Ireland to convert them to Christianity.
