BThe bars remind me of someone I knew. I had a coworker who was a little simple. He was married to a woman who had a son from a prior relationship. On payday, she would send her son to pick up his check as soon as he got it. He would go and meet the son at the train and pass the check through the bars to the kid. Little did his wife know that he had five whole bucks from each check deposited into a bank account. This wasn’t a whole lot of money, even back then. The saddest thing I ever saw was him at the bank arguing with the teller. The bank had taken all five bucks that week because he didn’t have enough in the account to avoid the monthly service charge. My coworker was threatening to close his account. The teller must have been terrified.
I can’t vouch for this next part, as I didn’t hear it myself. He supposedly told a coworker that his wife “hung out” with the minister at her church all the time. They would give him money and send him out to get wine for them. He would deliver the wine, and they would close the door. He said that it was pretty good because they let him keep the change.

I’m with you, Jeff—no one has the right to pry into someone else’s account!
