Mr. Nussbaum's "tale of the gundermann plant" Vienna, Austria 1938 Man: One night, my father, Anna and I heard a great roar from the city...a rise and fall of many voices....anger...fear... We went outside and the November wind bore the smell of smoke, the shouts in the streets punctuated by shattering glass.... My father told me to watch Anna, he'd be right back, wanted to check his store...and off he ran in the direction of the noise....without saying goodbye...
Sometimes people are awful.
