NATE: If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be? FRANCIS: Why would that happen? NATE: It's a hypothetical, Francis! If you had a radio that could only play one song...what song would you pick? FRANCIS: I wouldn't have to pick! I could listen to songs on other people's radios! NATE: What if there were no other radios? FRANCIS: I'd sing whatever songs I wanted to hear! NATE: Let's say you were mute then! FRANCIS: So what? I could still play any song on a guitar or a piano or a... NATE: Okay okay! Then what if you were deaf? If you were deaf and you could only listen to one...uh...one... You ruin everything.
I’ve basically stopped including Nate’s comics in the comic strip, because most newspapers shrink comics down to postage-stamp size, and the lined notebook paper of Nate’s drawings makes them too difficult to read. But Dr. Cesspool and Moe Mentum live on in the Big Nate chapter books.
