When I was in 6th grade (mid 70’s) we had a science project. My dad was an engineer, and built a cabinet with two TV channel dials. It was wired so you set the one to a numbered question, and the other to a numbered answer. Then you pressed a button, and if you were right, it lit a green light and dinged, or buzzed with a red light when you were wrong. I wrote the questions.

Cub Scout Pinewood Derby cars by dads got so out of control that we had to create a separate dad category for dad cars.
