It would not surprise me if the kite is a tribute to Peanuts. Charles Schulz was a fan of Jump Start and told Robb Armstrong so. He even gave the character Franklin the last name Armstrong.
Better question why can’t sunny accept that if our planet is this astounding, others may be too? That said unlike that the strip is kinda calling her out for ’s not that her love of earth is makes the charcter endearing. But it doesn’t mean wondering what else is out there is a waste of time.
