In my humble opinion, Andy should have requested an alternative number by Queen. Guitar Bob says, “Oh yes? Which one?” Andy lays him out and says, “Another one bites the dust!”
In the first part of the twofer, Bob should change the words to ‘people keep puttin’ me down’ and make it his theme song. And Andy was just trying to hurry him up to buy the next round.
In the second part, I see why Jack keeps guitar Bob around, it helps to clear out the riff raff. Unfortunately it does they same for the paying customers.

on a positive note, the guitar is still intact and not around Bob’s neck

Serious question time: do any Cappers actually like Guitar Bob episodes? (Or quiz night episodes, for that matter.)

Andy just had a little sip.

The only beat the beer thief is interested in is to beat a hasty retreat using Bob as an excuse.

Today’s Andy Capp’s got no class. In the strips of old, Andy was vulpine. He didn’t just pinch some critter’s beer.

Today’s classic goes out to Godfeydaniel, Popeye, Number Three and everyone else who prefers ‘the old Andy’…
CLASSIC ANDY CAPP Dept.
In a mid 70’s strip, Andy is raising a glass to 30 years of wedded ‘bliss’…
“Ere’s to the next thirty years, sweet’eart!”
Flo replies, “What’re you on about?”
Andy replies, “l thought you’d remember this place. This is where we decided to get married.”
Flo remarks that the place has certainly changed and Andy replies, " You aven’t darlin’."
In the final panel Flo replies, “I ’ave y’know – l don’t get as sloshed as l did then!”

Andy gets what he came for. Beer and ale. Then, he is out like a birthday candle.

I take it by his “infamous” remark that Guitar Bob is aware of how hated his singing is.

Andy couldn’t stand to hear Guitar Bob play another song

Guitar Bob doesn’t make enough tips to buy Andy a pint so he’ll stay.
