I hope the snow was deep and pillowy.

I’ll go out on a limb here and guess that Al has no idea how to do that.

Fortunately, with the chainsaw quickly tossed to the side when he fell, the only limb Al lost was the one attached to the tree.

/// The real troubles with Al’s slogans are,

not that some limbs, in fact, are too far.

    No— he promised tree CARE,

    but Al seems unaware

that an over-pruned tree is subpar.

/// He was asked to trim rot and corruption,

but his chainsaw approach spawns destruction.

    There’s no way to undo

    cuts he makes by snafu,

and the whole tree can soon cease to function.

I’m hoping the owner of that chainsaw is Musk. I’m also hoping that he fell on his head and received a soft landing.

Al is no longer limber as once he was

The reason for that condition is because

    His former youthful elasticity

    Is out of synchronicity

    With his age-related male menopause

    .

He should let Al Jr. do the climbing

The boy has better coordination timing

The ladder used holds his weight well

So that even if by accident he fell

His fall would not stress heal enzyming

    .

But Al is stubborn and will not admit

His pruning skills are now miss and hit

His anger rose as he adjusts the ladder

His face puffed up like a poison adder

His eyes missed buckles on his harness fit

    .

And down onto the ground he then fell

His limbs splayed out and joints did swell

At last perhaps his lesson’s learned

And son, Al, takes charge and at last earned

The business helm … how well he steers time will tell

The fines aren’t going to help either. There were several major infractions of rules and regulations that the Ropes & Pulley Club will be taking up with Al after he recovers.

The trouble all began when Al switched his advertising slogan. Originally, it was: “Al’s Tree Service – We’ll Go Out On A Limb For You!”.

The first time Al fell and hit his head he became confused. Seeing the chainsaw made him believe he was in Doge City and, in need of a drink, he headed to the Long Branch. Unfortunately, he was actually in Deadwood.

There was a young fellow called Al,

Who wanted to work with his pal.

    He climbed up a tree,

    Then needed a pee,

So jumped in the nearest canal.
