Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Just replace the “for” with a “4” and you have a pretty strong password, but if this the beginning of a loan process, you might go for a shorter one- you’ll be typing it a lot.
Would like to make an auto payment for an acct but there is a box that needs to be filled with something but there is no explanation as to what. No one seems to know when I’ve made inquiries.
I have four pages of user IDs and passwords because no two sites have the same requirement, especially for allowed symbols to use. Love the instruction – “check all boxes containing boxes”.
Many of my passwords contain profanity. The SCRA site that makes you create a new account every 60 days is the worst! I rarely ask my computer to remember anything for me, but that one, sure thing.
“Secure passwords” that most websites insist on these days are hard for humans to remember but easy for algorithms to crack. Leave us to our own devices and the “weak” passwords we’re accused of creating would actually be much harder for computers to figure out.
When you’re told to make your password between x and y characters, and include a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and punctuation marks (but only certain punctuation marks), you’re creating gibberish that your brain can’t draw associations with, while simultaneously reducing by many orders of magnitude the number of permutations that a computer needs to try to generate the password at random. It winds up taking the computer a few days to stumble upon it, rather than a few centuries.
During a recent password audit, it was found that a blonde was using the following password: “MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacramento”. When asked why she had such a long password, she said she was told that it had to be at least 8 characters long and include at least one capital.
For a while I used a password manager but I found a passphrase is better because I can remember it easily although I did write it down and put it in my phone’s secure folder. I’m an old man and I will forget lol

Go with it, Darryl. Who’s going to guess THAT word salad? That’s even better than “Correct horse battery staple.”

Why do kids always feel the urge to annoy their parents when they’re busy with something important?

Go to the scrabble site, find an 18 character word, then change some letters to #s and special characters through in some caps.
