apparently Earl likes old, worn out things

The older we get, the more we like old things…

walk with short steps and a clumsy swaying motion

To waddle somewhere means to walk there with short, quick steps, swinging slightly from side to side. A person or animal that waddles usually has short legs and a fat body.

I often do not wear something new right away. [I had a new pair of shoes that I didn’t wear for about a year (or so) until older pair was much more worn down.]

My wife likes to wear her new clothing as soon as she can.

Sometimes the old things are just too comfortable!

I HATE breaking in new slippers. But every couple of years or so, the old ones stop holding together and I have to do it again. Easier than new shoes though.

That idiot doesn’t know the difference between a sofa and a chair.

Ha! I love my old slippers, even though I have new ones…I can relate

I remember wearing a pair of slippers that was so comfortable that when I wore a hole out in the bottom, I bandaged it with duck tape so it would be water-tight.

Opal forgets the Zeroeth Rule of Men’s Fashion, at least for many.

If not nagged by one’s spouse or mother comfort is the key for what to wear. Something old and well worn from use.

Being a fashion plate to impress others can get expensive and uncomfortable.

How old are the socks exactly?

And Earl has those old slippers broken in (or down) to where they’re the most comfortable.

I had to curl my toes to keep my old ones on and eventually got gout.

Must not fit

When my daughter bought me new Eeyore slippers, I had trouble giving up my old Eeyore slippers. So I get it!

If they aren’t worn through, have seems ripping, or falling apart, they are at that comfortable stage. I won’t throw them away until they are totally “gone.”
