Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Downside: micro & nano plastic particles getting into the environment (and eventually into your and other animals’ organs & bloodstreams) when it deteriorates.
I have envisioned for many years building a reproduction covered bridge with recycled plastic lumber! The travel surface would either be real wood or steel grate.
I bet the will eventually. We bought a house 8 years ago, a deck was probably put in 20 years ago, it’s turning to pulp. I bring in the boards to match, and everyone says the same thing “those should last forever.”They are disintegrating.
imitations are better than the real thing all the time, synthetic diamonds are stronger and more reflective than natural ones, many kinds of artificial flavors are more consistent than natural ones, and I’m betting you would take any apple grown on a farm run by humans than one from a wild tree
Of course I DO like the idea of gathering up all the plastic “waste”, heating them enough to melt all of them into a blob, and forming them into whatever. Some things don’t need much structural strength.

I did a 900 sf room with engineered flooring, by myself. It took two days. Gave me an excuse to buy an electric miter saw.

Key word: “luxury”… Higher pricepoint, meaning overpriced.

Upside: a good way to recycle milk bottles.
Downside: micro & nano plastic particles getting into the environment (and eventually into your and other animals’ organs & bloodstreams) when it deteriorates.

There’s an environmental cost producing wood planks also. Nothing’s free.

Better at being a floor, not better at being wood…

Perfect for bathrooms and kitchens. Otherwise go with hardwood.

If I do replace my “falling apart” wooden floor, I will definitely go with this LVP.
