The last panel reminds me of an (often-shown) clip from a 1902 French film called “A Trip to the Moon” in English (inspired by Jules Verne’s “From the Earth to the Moon”). In it a bullet-like/looking spaceship crash-lands into one of the eyes of the man-in-the-moon.
