Watching six kids is a lot to ask.. but I’m sure Bernice will agree to do it.

I wonder what the issue is with Piro’s mother?… and why couldn’t he have taken the kids along with him to the hospital?

Well, this is going to be a very interesting arc. Now all we need is for Shannon to stop on by. LOL

Do we know if all of these children are relatives of his?

Today’s strip raises even more questions, such as. . . .

1. So all of those kids are Piro’s mother’s offspring? If so, does that mean they’re all Piro’s (half/step) siblings?

2. Who is/are the father(s)?

3. What happened to their mother? Is she alright? Is it serious?

4. Will this be an opportunity for us to see more development in Luann’s childcare skills?

5. Who’s this Alan guy, and what is his exact involvement in all of this?

6. Why have the twins been race-lifted since Saturday’s strip?

7. Why do birds suddenly appear?

8. How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?

9. Did you kill George Costanza?

Well, Bernice, it is Nancy and Frank’s house. You should ask them instead of Luann.

What would happen if the DeGroots agreed to watch all of hose kids, and then Piro just … disappeared?

If she agrees it should be at his mom’s place. Why can’t the oldest kid “watch” them?

I think Alan is old enough to watch the kids, Piro.

Well, well, well. Marvelous psychological counselor shows her true heart, made of gold—cold, solid and yellow.

I knew it! Bernice will agree to help Piro so she can appear to be the “hero” in his eyes, but she’ll dump all the real work on Luann.

And really, Bernice should tell Piro she can’t take a bunch of strange kids into someone else’s home without first checking with the owners of said home.

And I mean Frank and Nancy, NOT Luann!!

Piro should be the one asking Luann for help, not Bernice. I don’t know why he ask Bernice in the first place. Has she ever given him the impression she has an overabundance of maternal instinct?

But Bernice will agree, then she’ll dump the kids on Luann, and when Piro returns he’ll be heaping praise and thanks on Bernice, while Luann won’t even get a “hello” from him, because G&K think these kind of schticks are funny.

Looking after kids is Luann’s area of expertise. This could be interesting.

Alan looks old enough to watch the kids. Leave them at home with Alan for a few hours.

Piro is worse than Jonah about dropping off kids with no warning. I hope Piro does not know Toni and Brad or he’d drop off his gang there. I don’t care what Piro’s issues are, he is way too presumptuous with this request. Bernice should just say NO.

This brings back toxic memories of in laws. Get rid of Piro and his problems by all means and by any means. Call up his cousin, the girl with the spiked, red hair who doesn’t like underwear. “Family”, you know, that’s the holy and magic word to get whatever they want.

this is beyond realistic, sorry but I’ve already checked out it would be a huge ask if b lived in her on place but piro is expecting her to take in a pack of kids to the house where she’s a guest?

It would be interesting to know if Piro went directly to Bernice or tried to ask Tara before, without finding her. I understand that Bernice has doubts about watching all those children, I don’t think she’ll refuse, but Luann will do all the work. Piro seems very happy to know that Luann will be involved.

In an emergency like this, you just say yes, then call for reinforcements.

Callingin the Child Care Specialist, although Alan looks like he should be old enough to take care of himself or at least help with the others.

The details of this favor should have been given over text. The fact that Piro blindsided her with this after texting her with a vague “I need to see you at your place” is enough to warrant a firm refusal on its own, due to how blatantly manipulative it is. It reminds me of the time Jonah called Toni begging her to watch Shannon while he was driving her over there, saying he’d only now just found out about the situation. Then after he got there it turned out her also had time to pack a bunch of her stuff into the car, meaning he’d just straight-up lied to Toni about having no prior notice.

Enough of the doormats. Bernice needs to stand up to this guy. His family life isn’t her problem, and he needs to learn that his blatant manipulation has consequences. He should’ve trusted her with the information in advance rather than blindsiding her so she felt trapped into saying yes. And this is coming from someone who normally hates Bernice.

Bernice knows that Luann is better with kids.

Who’s Alan? Who are these kids? Who’s his mother’s guy? Where is his mother while her guy is “off somewhere?” What’s going on? Where am I? Help!

Piro needs to have a man to man talk with his mom’s “guy”.

You start with the older ones and get them to help the younger. Alan looks like he could learn to do laundry; pick up/sort/load/unload…

Then attack the ones that need immediate attention. Maybe the twins are toilet-trained, maybe not. And breakfast for this crew. What’s in the pantry? Go to market. And so on…

Shockingly, this actually is a job for Luann! :-) She’s very much qualified for this.

Alan is one of the kids? I nought maybe he was driving it’s Piro to he hospital.

Now Luann can come join the meeting, it makes sense now. Instead of being a private type visit it now needs more in attendance. Besides it’s been proven Luann is excellent with children.

This is just a contrivance to get Luann and Piro together.

It’s a stupid, idiotic, ridiculous “who’s gonna watch these kids” plot ploy that has already gotten way too old with the Shannon character. There are so many holes in this story line that anyone with any smarts at all just finds it annoying. I think it’s pretty obvious what other readers think about it, and I find it so stupid I’m going to resist pointing out all the faults because I can’t sit here and type for several hours.

About the way this strip has gone for decades now.

Kudos for the artwork today. The kids all look a little apprehensive, but hopeful. And, Alan appears to be a young person with special needs. Finally, an interesting thread!!!!

I think this is very sensible. Luann has experience wrangling children from her daycare work. Even if she just helps a little, Bernice is sure to learn something.

Bernice wants to be a child therapist, but kids aren’t her thing? Time to rethink her future.

Seems to me a better plan would be to call an ambulance for Piro’s mom if she’s seriously sick. Or a cab to take her to hospital if she’s not.

Boy, plot twist! I know enough to sit back and wait developments, but it kinda explains a lot. The question is the explanation, and I’ll wait before I opine.

Good thing Luann has experience with children. Perhaps after this, she may consider starting a babysitting business. Maybe even run her own school nursery.

See, Bernice is still hoping for more of a connection with Piro, but he’s got a bunch of siblings that he cares about, and she’s not into taking care of kids. Sorry, Bern, they’re a package deal! You’re not getting with Piro if you can’t accept that.

I’m not sure why there’s so much speculation about Alan. He’s obviously one of Piro’s younger siblings. All these kids are!

Although Alan looks old enough to care for the kids for awhile, it doesn’t mean he is capable of doing it. For example, he could be autistic and unable to bear that responsibility.

Bernice it will take you and Luann to watch over these 6 kids.

Luann is good with kids. Even has experience.

How long was he gone? And, he just shows up out of nowhere with a bunch of brats? What a loser!

Is anyone else old enough to remember being left in the car while the parents did the grocery shopping? We were safe and it was great fun. My dad was a saint who never mentioned how we messed the rear view mirrors or radio buttons.

In the US, depending on the state law, Alan might have to be 13 or 14 to supervise other children. Even if he is that old, Piro may know (as some have speculated) that for whatever reason, Alan is not capable of caring for 5 younger half-siblings.

It’s like Carla Tortelli’s household.

Knowing how is often less important than knowing WHO does know how.
