Well, here we are, what everybody has been waiting for all this time: the episode where Hawkeye and Hot Lips finally make out. Now everybody will complain that both characters have officially been ruined, because the conflict that existed between the two of them will no longer be there, which means nobody has any reason to continue to invest in whatever ongoing tension that kept their dynamic interesting in the first place.

Great finish to the blood drive story. And perhaps a budding romance for Luann…. Only thing I would have changed was Luann’s sweater should have been green. Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ everyone!!!!!!

I like it! Glad the blood drive was a success and the drama subsided. Maybe Phil is the “one” for Luann! He seems nice when he’s not being bossy. He’ll look just like Frank when he gets older and girls do seem to like guys that remind them of their fathers.

I said this is the guy for Luann now and I believe for the future. He encourages her, keeps her somewhat confused approach to adulthood in some kind of order, obviously likes her, and it’s obvious likewise, he is caring, she is also, they are a couple for sure. And the KISS BY THE NAME CHARACTER OF THE DRAMA PART OF THIS HUMOR DRIVEN STRIP! ON THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY!!!

It’s been an incredible 40 years. I remember seeing LUANN in our newspaper in the 80’s and enjoying it.

I read it off and on over the years and made sure to buy their Andrews McMeel “Luann Collection” books whenever they came out.

Ok, I thought you got a kiss on St. Patrick’s day when you wore green, and a pinch if you did not, no? Neither one of them are wearing green, or perhaps the illustrator messed up his color palette?

Looks like I was right in that we’d never see Luann give blood herself, but I didn’t think I’d be right because of them skipping over the blood drive altogether.

Par for the course that an event happened we didn’t get to see. Oh well. Happy 40th Luann & Happy St Pats to all!

The thank you video from Greg and Karen on LuannFan.com was very sweet, and I quite enjoyed the comic panels they included about the “real-life aging” of the Luann character (and Bernice).

She looks pretty good considering she’s around 60.

Today’s comic is an excellent story development! However, While trying to read today’s comics, my computer has been attacked 3 times. That doesn’t happen anywhere else on the Internet for me. Somebody at GoComics is not paying attention to their job.

I guess we didn’t get to see what decorations Nancy put up (garlands) or what the cafe crowd was wearing.

I hope it works out, as Phil looks really surprised.

Can you really go too far?

(I was just wondering because I never got very far.)

Like Lucy pulling the football away when Charlie Brown tries to kick it, GnK give us the double middle finger salute by skiping over the actual blood drive after talking about it extensively. They gavr us a week of Leslie trying to fix a toilet but a week of the blood drive is too much? There is so much that could have happened over the course of the six days. Do I want to see people with needles in their arms? Not especially. But Luann being nervous about giving blood, yes. This would have been a chance to bring characters that don’t get much space. Bets and Gunther could have been taping a public service announcement for their web site. Jack, Nil, or Piro could have made a cameo appearance. Even Knute and Crystal could have been in the line to get into the blood mobile. Then there could have been sometime about what The Fuse was doing during the drive (alcohol-free drinks for the day, coupons for free dessert, just showing how busy the place was during the blood drive. If Leslie being stupid is good for a week, certainly they could have given us a week of the blood drive.

The fact that this was the 40th anniversary strip makes me think Phil is the one she’ll end up marrying.

Arrrgh! They skipped over the blood drive? Oh well, sweet little lean-in kiss. I’m old-fashioned, but I like a woman who takes the initiative. Specifically, the one I love and married.

Luann has been around for 40 years, its about time she gets a steady BF right? Her brother is married now. Lets get Luann going steady at least!!
